The intersection of Information Technology and small organizations can be a dangerous one. 'blinks are like flashing amber traffic lights--little warnings that I've picked up on the Web. Let's all help keep these intersections accident-free.
We have been experiencing an e-mail virus storm, mainly with variants of the "W32.sober.X@mm" worm since November 19. How does a storm occur? It all has to do with address books. If one person triggers the worm, it is sent to everyone in the victim's address book, including any groups, and it will generally keep sending repeatedly until the breach is repaired. You may be in that address book multiple times, so you get many copies. And, if anyone else from the first address book is infected, the process starts anew, and you may get a bazillion more emails since you are probably in many address books that branch from the original. It's a kind of "who you know" networking thing. 0 Comments(s): Click to post your comment. + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - +
