The intersection of Information Technology and small organizations can be a dangerous one. 'blinks are like flashing amber traffic lights--little warnings that I've picked up on the Web. Let's all help keep these intersections accident-free.
New version of Windows & Office
Microsoft announced that it will delay final release of its new operating system, Windows Vista, and its new version of Microsoft Office, until January 2007. This means that any computers purchased at that time will come pre-loaded with the new Operating System (OS). You may not want the new OS, so be sure to specify that you want your new systems loaded with Windows XP instead of Vista. I.T. managers typically prefer to standardize on a single version. Also, the adoption rate for new versions of Windows is actually very slow. So...no need to rush. Give the new OS time to mature a bit and plan your upgrade for later in 2007, or 2008. (Of course, that will mean resisting the billion-dollar marketing juggernaut for the new version, but you can do that, right?) 0 Comments(s): Click to post your comment. + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - +
