The intersection of Information Technology and small organizations can be a dangerous one. 'blinks are like flashing amber traffic lights--little warnings that I've picked up on the Web. Let's all help keep these intersections accident-free.

About the QBF

Take a second look at the posting below, the one titled, "The quick brown fox..."

I dictated that sentence on my cell phone using a web 2.0 service called "Jott." I called Jott, told it to post to this blog, B.L.I.N.K.S., and dictated the posting. (Yes, I could have been more original.)

Jott converted the speech to text and, using a web service and my credentials, posted it to my blog. It also emailed a copy to me and would text it to my cell phone if I wanted to enable Sprint's expensive texting (SMS) service for $15.99 per month.

Jott is a public beta right now and it's not perfect, but it is a simple and powerful implementation of speech-to-text and you ought to give it a try.
